Birthday Party!

So...I learned it's hard to plan a party around a theme that hasn't been popular (except among your kids) for 6 or so years.  The boys L.O.V.E. Caillou and requested the theme months ago.  Thankfully I was able to locate a table cloth and some shirts for the little guys.

Here's the decor:

Chandelier pom-poms:

Cutie Patootie Pictures:

Front door decor:

The pinata (having nothing to do with Caillou...but it was the only one the boys could agree on at the party store):

Yummy cupcakes:

Craft activities for the kids:

These ended up being the party favors...only most kids forgot them after the pinata and cupcakes;

And here's the action:

My favorite part was right before bedtime when Grant sat in my lap and named every single person that was at his party (without my prompting)...even kids he didn't know very well.  I was so proud that he paid attention to his guests enough to remember their names.

Zoo Boo

Since Daddy FINALLY had a weekend off, we headed out to the zoo. For the last three weekends in October the zoo is hosting Zoo Boo. The kids get to wear their costumes and participate in Halloween themed activities.Checking out construction equipment.Ok, this is random...but seriously?!?! Platform stilettos? To the zoo? And no, this was not part of a costume.

Bye-Bye Paci

The next weekend, we went to Austin to help with some family events. While we were there we decided to have an event of our own.

The boys gave up their pacis!!!

We walked down to H.E.B. from my mom's house and took more than our fair share of the free balloons. It took 6 or 7 to actually carry the pacis away.

Grant and Zachary took a few last "hits" off their pacis and then we "sent them off to babies that needed them". As Grant would say, "They went up, up, up and then dooowwwn to babies".
After a quick stop at Starbucks for water and a Pumpkin Spice Latte, of course, we walked back home.Sloan, the only one who didn't get anything at Starbucks, ended up holding all the cups!

The ABCs & Holy Holy

This happens to be Zachary's favorite song to sing in church. You can often find him singing it even if it's not the song that is actually being led.

If you aren't familiar with it, here is your translation: Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee!
