Zoo Boo

Since Daddy FINALLY had a weekend off, we headed out to the zoo. For the last three weekends in October the zoo is hosting Zoo Boo. The kids get to wear their costumes and participate in Halloween themed activities.Checking out construction equipment.Ok, this is random...but seriously?!?! Platform stilettos? To the zoo? And no, this was not part of a costume.

Bye-Bye Paci

The next weekend, we went to Austin to help with some family events. While we were there we decided to have an event of our own.

The boys gave up their pacis!!!

We walked down to H.E.B. from my mom's house and took more than our fair share of the free balloons. It took 6 or 7 to actually carry the pacis away.

Grant and Zachary took a few last "hits" off their pacis and then we "sent them off to babies that needed them". As Grant would say, "They went up, up, up and then dooowwwn to babies".
After a quick stop at Starbucks for water and a Pumpkin Spice Latte, of course, we walked back home.Sloan, the only one who didn't get anything at Starbucks, ended up holding all the cups!

The Baby Giraffe & A Fire Truck

I absolutely loved staying home with the boys for the last 2 days since their school was closed in preparation for the new school year.

Monday we went to get hair cuts, out to lunch...just Mommy and the boys, to my office to get my paycheck and then to the bank. It was a busy day, but surprisingly enjoyable.

Yesterday, Daddy overslept so we rushed out of the house to take him to work. Once we got home we had breakfast and welcomed our friends, the Magnusons, over for playtime and lunch. Since we took Daddy to work...we had to pick him up...thankfully he got off early enough for us to cram just a little more fun into our last day together. Since the hospital (where Daddy works) is right across the street from the zoo, we popped in to get a look at the new baby giraffe! He was born on the 10th and was already over 6ft tall!
We had to take these pictures for Gigi! With flamingos nesting, a new baby giraffe, and a new baby antelope....the zoo is a busy place! After a quick dinner at home, we headed to see some firetrucks! Always a big hit with these little guys. I took a picture of Zachary driving, but for some reason it didn't save to my camera...bummer.

These pictures are from our behind the scenes tour of the Houston Zoo's elephant habitat. And yes, I realize that this first one is not a picture of an elephant. My favorite, the giraffes happen to be right next to the elephants. Since we were at the zoo an hour before it opened, we got to see right as they let the giraffes out of their barn.
