7 Months!

It has been SEVEN months since I have posted a blog entry.  Oops!  Well a LOT has happened in the last seven months to keep me busy!

In July, we bought a new house!

In August, Zachary and Grant started kindergarten!

In September, Sage turned ONE!

And in October, I finally came to grips with the fact that we are having ANOTHER baby!  Our doctor is almost positive it is another boy due April 22nd!

Sage @ Six Months

That happened way too fast!  I can't believe how big our baby girl is getting!
6 month stats:
Height - 26.5" (79th percentile)
Weight - 16lbs (53rd percentile)

Since the last update Sage has started to eat more foods and take a bottle/nurse 4-5 times a day.  She is still sleeping well during the night, but has started fighting naps.  If we are out and about she will nap well in her car seat, but usually has to be bounced or rocked to sleep at home.  She "talks" a lot and is becoming more interactive.  She reaches for EVERYTHING and gives it a taste test once she gets it.  Her favorite thing to chew on is by far her TOES!

She has learned to roll both ways now, but has no interest in laying down.  She is very content to sit and play.  Even though she is pretty stable, I still put a pillow around her since we have hard floors!

Her hair is really starting to grow and fill out so we can finally wear bows without the headbands!
Sage also got her first "bug" last week.  She ran a fever for a few days and was just not herself.  I am so thankful that has passed and am looking forward to getting her back into her normal routine!

Growing, growing, growing...

I'm starting to understand what the little old ladies who said,
"cherish these little years, they grow up so fast"
were talking about!

This month we celebrated Zachary and Grant turning 5-years-old!  We took a trip to Great Wolf Lodge and had a BLAST!

Today we had our well-child check-ups so here are our stats:

Sage - 4 months old

Height - 25 inches (76%)
Weight - 14 lbs 4.5 oz (64%)

This month Sage has started rolling from her back to her tummy, but can't quite get back over.  She is eating rice and some fruits/vegetables that we have pureed for her as well as nursing 6-7 times a day.  She is sleeping 12-13 hours every night and takes two short naps and one big nap every day.  She enjoys standing to play in her exersaucer and rolling around on her play mat.  She absolutely adores her brothers and laughs at them a LOT.  She really enjoys when they turn on her musical toys and do silly dances for her.  Sage is laughing, smiling, cooing and blowing lots of bubbles.  We think she has a tooth coming in but it hasn't poked through yet!  The picture above is from her first time in Cradle Roll Bible class at church.  Unfortunately, she lost it soon after I left and had to be held the rest of the time.

Zachary - 5 years old

Height - 3' 6.5" (40%)
Weight - 38 lbs (29%)

Zachary is loving school and soaking up as much information as he can.  He has an incredible ability to identify pretty much every dinosaur he sees with it's scientific name and determine whether it is a carnivore or herbivore based on it's teeth!  He still loves to run and does so whenever he gets the opportunity!  This probably explains his 29th percentile for body weight - although this isn't much different than years past.  We were encouraged to try to incorporate more fats in his diet...the healthy kind of course!  If Zachary stays on his current growth curve he is on track to be about 5'9"-5'11"...so just like his daddy (I know you are all SHOCKED to hear that!).

Grant - 5 years old

Height - 3' 9.5" (92%)
Weight - 44lbs 8 oz (75%)

Grant is our talker (hush...I know where he gets it and I don't need to be reminded). He asks approximately 972 questions a day. He is a very smart boy and picks up new information and skills very quickly.  He learned to tie his shoes in one sitting and is now trying to teach his brother.  He is our little helper and adores his baby sister.  If Grant stays on his current growth curve he is on track to be 6'1"-6'3"...it's safe to say he takes after the Shoemaker/LaPorte side of the family.  And as you can tell by the picture Grant also lost his first tooth just days after turning 5!

The nursery is FINISHED!

"Build it and they will come"...right????  Let's hope!  Her carseat is installed and her nursery is ready.  There are clean sheets on the bassinet and diapers prepped and ready.  Now we just need a BABY!!!

30 Weeks & a BIG Helper

I am in uncharted territory now...30 weeks and 1 day!  It feels much different than when I was pregnant with the boys in a lot of ways!  Even though I had twice as much baby in my tummy last time, this pregnancy has brought on many more aches and pains, mainly because I am not on bed rest (yahoooooo!).  I am not sure my pelvis is up for the job...it feels like it is going to break in half!  The foot that I had a stress fracture in a year or so ago is acting up again, giving me quite the attractive waddle-limp.  But I am trying my best to grin and bear it because I couldn't be more THRILLED to have made it this far and pray to make it at least 8 more weeks...even if it means I get to sport the waddle-limp for all of those weeks!

For those of you who request the belly shot, here she is:
30 weeks
I also have to add in this picture of Grant at Costco:
IMAG0002
He is really into helping with everything...even putting cases of juice boxes in the cart!  I was shocked that he was actually able to carry that!  I almost stopped him as he was getting it off the shelf but Sloan encouraged him to try!

I still can't quite wrap my mind around the concept of having 3 kids and am VERY thankful for two little boys that want to help as much as they do.  It's really nice now that their help is really actually helpful!!!

29 weeks 4 days - Inside & Out

Today, I am 29 weeks and 4 days pregnant - the exact gestation at which I delivered the boys. I am glad to have made it this far without complications, but it makes me sad for my little boys - that I wasn't able to give them more. You would never know it now, they are PERFECT!!!
This is what 29w4d looks like on the inside:
29+4
Yes, the camera is over my face on purpose :)
And here's what it looks like on the outside:
Grant (he still sleeps with that little lion, now it fits within his hand)
Zachary
And here they are exactly 4 1/2 years later:

We have so much to thank God for!!!
