Grant has made the 4 pound mark!!!

Last night Grant broke out of the 3 pounder's club weighing it at 1815 grams (4 pounds), his brother is close behind at 1800 grams (3 pounds 15 ounces)! We were told yesterday that Grant is ready to be moved down to the level 2 nursery, but he won't go until his brother is ready to make the move as well. Hopefully, today will be the day that they give Zachary a chance off his CPAP, from what Sloan and I can tell, he is not as dependent on it as he used to be. Once he is off the CPAP, they will give him a few days in the level 3 to see how he does, then he will be ready to go down to level 2 as well. Please keep Zachary in your prayers, that he will be successful at breathing on his own without the reminder of the CPAP.

Zachary had a wonderful nurse Sunday night, Monica, who was thoughtful enough to take some pictures of our little guys face. Monica had to change out all his tubing and tape, so she took these pictures while he was bare skinned. The patches on his cheeks are there to stick the tape to so that it isn't constantly pulling at his face (that doesn't come off frequently and not without a fight). So here he is (these are pictures of pictures so sorry if they are a little blurry)....

We had a very relaxing time last night, here are Sloan and Zachary sound asleep......and here is Grant, completely sprawled out and relaxed. He managed to break free of his Snuggli and was laying across it.

Tonight we will learn how to give baths...we will report tomorrow on how that goes!

  1. The babies are just precious! It was so fun to be able to see their sweet faces. Praise God for the progress that Zachary and Grant are making. It's my prayer that Zachary will catch up to Grant and lead you down to the level 2 care. Have another relaxing evening. I'm praying that you'll hear more good news!
    Love ya, Pam Lehman

  2. I am so happy to hear of Grant and Zachary's progress every day. Lee and I are praying for your family. I hope the bath lesson is not too scary. I also pray Zachary will have the CPAP removed asap.
Tell Nurse Monica thank you for her extra work so we could enjoy the boy's pictures.

    Thinking of you
