Weekend Wrap-Up: Sewing Cabinet

Since we moved the desk out of the guest room, I have been wanting to set up my sewing machine in there so that I can actually do crafty projects without having to climb through this to get to my sewing machine...can you see it in there??? Hint:  It's behind Brad Ausmus (former hottie Astros catcher) in a wetsuit.
I have been scouring Goodwill, Salvation Army and the local Catholic church's thrift shop for a small desk with a few drawers. Today, I even went to a junk antique store but everything was overpriced and not really what I wanted.  Since the thrift shop was on my way home and I was without my grumpy husband alone I decided to stop one more time.  Back in the corner was this beauty, somehow I missed it the other day when I stopped by with my grumpy husband.
OK, so maybe it isn't a beauty...but I had a vision.  I liked that it had a place for my machine to be out but hidden at the same time.  After a trip to Home Depot, new knobs, a can of spray primer, colonial red spray paint (disaster!), and leftover front door paint...my vision came to life in this:
I love it!!! Time to get my CRAFT on!

  4. I like that it folds down. Is it strong enough to use as a sewing table when folded down? My husband is grumpy too. I couldn't get him to a thrift store if I tried and would rather not because I would miss stuff too. He would be grumpin all over the place. I think it turned out great thanks for sharing.
