I think the pictures speak for themselves. This month Zachary and Grant have really taken off. It seems that they are mastering new skills one after another and keeping Mom and Dad on their toes. Zachary was reluctant to crawl for a long time, but we know now that he was hiding his true skills...he is fast! Grant learned to pull up to standing and now he is standing all the time. Zachary has been pulling up a lot these last few days, and watches his brother closely, mimicking his every move.
This month Zachary also claimed his first concussion. It all happend Thursday morning as I was getting the boys ready for the day. Zachary was sitting and leaned forward for a toy that was too far away, he toppled over head first and hit his head on the leg of his crib. Since he didn't fuss too much, I didn't think much of it. Less than an hour after I left them at daycare, I got a call that Zachary had vomited three times. On the way to daycare I called the pediatrician, I didn't really start to freak until the receptionist told me to be there as soon as I could and they would work me in with the first available doctor. I am used to being told "Oh, we have an appointment at 3 o'clock." So I paged Sloan and he met us at the doctors office. Meanwhile, Zachary couldn't have been more normal, laughing and playing. The doctor recommended that we go get x-rays just to rule out a fracture, but she was confident that he was just fine. So we headed over to Texas Children's (where we prayed we would never be back at) and got x-rays of little Zac's noggin. About 3 hours later we were told that his films were normal.
On Friday, we took the boys back for their flu shot boosters...they actually handled it really well with little fussing. After the nurse left, we put the boys on the scale just to see what they were weighing in these days. Grant...oh my...was pushing 24 pounds! Zachary, still the smaller of the two, was a little over 20 pounds. After the doctor visit we went to the park where the boys enjoyed more swinging and an picnic in the park.
We are less than a month away from our first birthday!
Time does go by fast! Emmy and Caleb are about to be 10 months old. Caleb is 25 pounds and Emy is 22 pounds. Caleb is pulling up now, too. Emmy hasn't quite mastered that yet. Pretty soon, I won't be able to catch them!
