We started cereal Thursday. It's a mess. Zachary doesn't really like it, but he'll eat it. Grant is totally offended by anything foreign going into his mouth. So today I broke the rules. After only 2 days of regular rice cereal, I added some prunes. Grant became a little more interested, he still didn't like it much but he tolerated it as long as I let him lick it off the spoon rather than putting a spoonful in his mouth. Zachary on the other hand...chowed it down. Hopefully we will get the hang of it soon. I didn't get any prune pictures, but here are some from Thursday as the boys got their first taste of cereal.

That's so funny! Josiah was like Zachary, he'd hold it in his mouth forever with a face that said, "what in the world am I supposed to do with this?" Now bananas were a different story, he gobbled them up! So we didn't do cereal by itself after the first failed attempts.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't stress if they don't catch on quickly--they will soon enough, or if like vegetables for a while. I stressed about it all the time because the only way I could get him to eat vegetables was with fruit mixed in. He eats them by themselves now and loves broccoli more than anything. So, don't worry about eating stuff!
I can't believe they are 6 months old! Seriously, that is crazy! How's your job going?
Thanks for the encouragement Rachel! Grant got a rash after the cereal, so he is just getting fruit. He seems to like it a little better, but he still would rather just have a bottle. We'll start him on barley once he gets better at eating.
ReplyDeleteMy job is great, I love being back with all the people I used to work with, they are really great. I do miss the boys a lot, but after being alone with them all day long...I am ready to go back to work. Sloan started residency, so things are getting hectic. The boys go for their first day of daycare tomorrow :(
