We LOVE Dr. Carpenter!

After a day full of contractions, Dr. Carpenter saved the day! He came to visit yesterday afternoon just after my Mag was bumped back up to 3g. He agreed that they should never have lowered it, especially not all the way down to 2g, when I was feeling just fine and the contractions were under control. So there is now an order in my chart that states no one is to adjust my meds without consulting him first...this is at least until Dr. Hutton gets back from her vacation. We share the same perspective as Dr. Carpenter...I'm going to be on a high level of Mag, I'm going to be here until the babies come, and it is better to have me on the drugs and feeling bad than to have the babies here and in intensive care. So now we just have to convince the other doctors to leave me alone for few more weeks. We want nice big babies...that arrive some time next year!

Today has started out kinda rough...I haven't been feeling too great...a little nauseous and a lot "blah". I am getting more uncomfortable in my skin every day, I feel enormous. I am encouraged to lay on my side, but after a while my ribs and hips start to hurt...oh the joys of pregnancy! It will all be worth it in the end when we get to see our little guys! It is still so unreal to me that I am actually going to have these babies. I was telling Sloan yesterday how surreal this all is to me, that we have been trying to keep these babies from being delivered for the last 7 weeks, but that eventually I am going to go into "real" labor and I am actually going to be "not pregnant" again! My brain is having a hard time going there!

  1. Jessica and Sloan,
My mom and I were just talking about you and your little ones yesterday and saying a little prayer that everything was going well. Just wanted you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers!

P.S. Enjoyed the idea for the casserole tote! I printed it off! Thanks!
